Our company history

1996

K&W Drive Systems is founded

The company K&W Drive Systems is founded by Karl Wallisch and Harald Knopf in December 1996. At the beginning, they worked in a transitional office and successfully did everything they could to retain the customers of the previous company - with just four employees.

1997 - 2004

First major orders

Allison Transmission and Detroit Diesel can be convinced as partners. The first major orders (Allison transmissions and gensets) follow quickly. As a sales and service partner of Köhler & Ziegler, numerous CHP units are installed in Austria. The company is growing.

2005

Takeover of the Rauscher company

The takeover of Rauscher and the associated partnership with MTU Friedrichshafen doubles the workforce. A new office building for now 33 employees is planned and built in a record time of 11 months.

2006 - 2015

Establishment of subsidiaries

Subsidiaries are founded in Romania and the Czech Republic in order to provide customers with even better local support. In Austria K&W Drive Systems receives numerous orders in plant construction (emergency power generators).

2016

Ideally equipped for the future

K&W Drive Systems is debt-free and ideally equipped for the future: The company continues to invest in expanding the skills of its now more than 50 employees and in its international commitment.

2023

Generation change

K&W Drive Systems becomes K&W Drive Systems - Wallisch Getriebe und Motoren Vertriebs-GesmbH and remains the exclusive sales and service partner of Allison Transmission, Yanmar, Mahindra Powerol and Bosch.

2024

New partnerships

K&W becomes official Service & Spare Parts Partner of the engine manufacturer Baudouin Moteurs. Furthermore, a partnership with KEYPOWER for the supply and manufacture of power generators, load banks and other products is concluded. Existing cooperations remain unaffected.
