Company History

1996

K & W Drive Systems was founded in December 1996. We started out in a temporary office, and did everything we could to keep the customers of the predecessor company - with success. We had only four employees at the time.

1997 - 2004

Partnerships with Allison Transmission and Detroit Diesel. First major orders (Allison transmissions and generators) quickly follow. Installation of various cogeneration plants (CHP) in Austria, as a sales and service partner of Köhler & Ziegler. Expansion of company to 16 employees.

2005

Doubling of workforce due to takeover of Rauscher and the associated partnership with MTU Friedrichshafen. A new office building for the employees - now totalling 33 - was planned and built in record time: 11 months. Almost all employees stay at K & W Drive Systems long term.

2006 -2015

Establishment of branch offices in Romania and the Czech Republic to provide on-site support to customers. Numerous power plant construction orders (emergency generators) in Austria. K & W Drive Systems has been a spare parts partner of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) for over 10 years and celebrates the installation of its 50th cogeneration plant (CHP).

2016

K & W Drive Systems is debt-free and well-prepared for the future: It continues to invest in the development of the skills of its approx. 50 employees, and in international activities.
